• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never receive, see, or store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details. Stripe handles all payment data under their own PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.
• Transaction records — we retain the Stripe payment ID, amount, and status for order fulfillment and accounting.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data — pages visited, reports purchased, features used, and interaction patterns
• IP address — collected with each request for security and fraud prevention
• Browser and device information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device type
• Referral source — how you arrived at our website

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

• Report delivery — to generate and deliver the location intelligence reports you purchase
• Payment processing — to process your purchase and issue refunds when applicable

• Anthropic (Claude) — AI analysis. Your location search queries and questionnaire responses are sent to Anthropic's API for report generation. See: anthropic.com/privacy
• US Census Bureau — public demographic and economic data. No personal information is shared. See: census.gov/privacy
• OpenStreetMap — public geographic and point-of-interest data. No personal information is shared. See: osmfoundation.org privacy policy
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Your email address is shared with Resend to deliver order confirmations and report notifications. See: resend.com/privacy

4. Data Retention

• Reports — generated reports are stored indefinitely and remain accessible via their unique URL.
• Account data — your email address, hashed password, and account preferences are retained until you request deletion.
• Payment records — transaction records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).
• Usage logs — server logs and usage data may be retained for up to 12 months for analytics and security purposes.
• Search queries — location search queries associated with purchased reports are retained as part of the report record.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@locationgeni.us. Please note that we may retain certain data as required by law even after an account deletion request.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

• All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with appropriate salt rounds and are never stored in plaintext
• Authentication uses secure httpOnly cookies that are not accessible to client-side JavaScript
• Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure
• Database access is restricted and encrypted
• Our infrastructure is deployed on secured, self-managed Kubernetes clusters

However, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use the following cookies:

• Session/authentication cookies — essential cookies used to maintain your logged-in session. These are httpOnly cookies that cannot be accessed by JavaScript and expire after 30 days.
